Purpose Statement

Nursing education and scholarships are vital to improving health care and advancing nursing science. The PNASD Scholarship Program supports continued education and scholarly activities for nurses and future nurses, developing clinicians, health care leaders, educators, researchers and policymakers.

Scholarship Program Description

This program provides scholarship assistance to undergraduate and graduate individuals seeking to pursue and advance their education to ADN, BSN, MSN, or doctorate in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Scholarships are funded through the generous philanthropic contributions of the PNASD donors and sponsors.

Minimum Requirements for Applicants

Must be a member of PNASD for 3 months at the time of submission of application and a resident of San Diego County.

• Current resume or curriculum vitae including leadership and active voluntary involvement in community activities, organizational and/or professional activities. Attach a copy of certificates verifying hours.

• Currently accepted or enrolled in a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program

• Proof of enrollment for the upcoming school year must be attached to the application packet (copy of current semester registration, acceptance letter, most recent grades, etc.).

• Recommendation form submitted by a personal or professional acquaintance who knows the applicant for at least 2 years AND a recommendation form from a previous or current academic professor.

• Upload a high-resolution head-shot or professional photo along with the application

• We are unable to consider applications exceeding the specified word count.
