1. Member Engagement & Professional Development
Strategic Goal:
Strengthen member value by supporting lifelong professional growth, leadership development, and meaningful
engagement at every stage of a nurse’s career.
Key Initiatives
• Develop formal member pathways from:
o Student Nurse
o Newly Licensed RN
o Specialty Practice Nurse
o Nurse Leader/Expert/Mentor
• Expand continuing education and professional development opportunities.
• Establish scholarships to support:
o Conference attendance
o Leadership training
o Specialty certifications
o Advanced nursing education
• Create mentorship and coaching opportunities between nurses.
• Promote active member participation through meaningful committee and volunteer opportunities.
• Encourage members to identify and live their own “Intent and Meaning” within the organization.
2. Leadership Development & Organizational Sustainability
Strategic Goal:
Build a strong pipeline of future leaders through intentional succession planning, governance education, and
leadership readiness.
Key Initiatives
• Implement leadership development programs beginning with:
o Nonprofit 101
o Financial/accounting fundamentals
o Laws, regulations, and governance compliance
• Strengthen succession planning and leadership transition strategies.
• Develop leadership competencies for chapter leaders, current and future.
• Create an Advisory Council composed of past presidents to:
o Provide institutional knowledge
o Being a resource to current leaders
o Support strategic continuity
• Increase member awareness of leadership opportunities within PNASD, PNAA and the broader
community.
3. Advocacy, Community Impact & Public Service
Strategic Goal:
Advance the voice and influence of nurses through advocacy, community engagement, and service initiatives that
improve public health and support vulnerable populations.
Key Initiatives
• Advocate on important healthcare and nursing issues affecting:
o The nursing profession
o Patient care
o Community health outcomes
• Continue “Annual Mental Health Event” and expand mental health advocacy and wellness programs.
• Continue “Adopt-a-Family” holiday giving initiatives.
• Continue “Balik Aklatan” to support nursing education by sending nursing books and resources to nursing
schools.
• Promote health equity, cultural awareness, and community outreach initiatives.
• Encourage nurses to serve as advocates and trusted leaders within healthcare systems and communities.
4. Interprofessional Collaboration & Healthcare Partnerships

Strengthen collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, organizations, academic institutions, and
community partners to advance shared goals in healthcare and nursing excellence.

• Strengthen interprofessional collaboration among nurses, physicians, allied health professionals,
educators, and community leaders.
• Continue partnerships with nursing schools and healthcare organizations.
• Collaborate on educational forums, community health events, and advocacy campaigns.
• Increase visibility of Filipino and Filipino-American nurses within healthcare leadership and policy
discussions.
• Foster opportunities for collaborative research, mentorship, and innovation.
